Thailand- Heaven for backpackers-1

Posted on April 15, 2018 by Abhishek Prahladka

But all my hope shattered when I saw that to & fro fare from New Delhi to Goa is almost Twenty Thousand rupees and the cost of additional tour package option could have taken my budget far from my reach.

Suddenly in a curious mood, I opened that website where I had seen the advertisement for low fare to Bangkok. The website had link to Air Asia Airline portal who claimed that they are lowest air carrier service provider in Asia.

Browsing through the website of company, I found that the flight operates from only four places in India and New Delhi was not in the list. So, I looked for best option & place which is closest to my reach & preferably known to me.

I found Kolkata to be the best option as many relatives of mine live in Kolkata and it would easy for me to meet them if itinerary permits, followed by search of places to which Air Asia flies from Kolkata.

Bangkok was in the list of places with availability of seats at the time I desired (after allocating all my probabilities of busy days and work commitments). It took me four days to decide whether to book seats or not due to the fact that seats were available in October2013 for journey in February next year and the duration between booking & travelling was almost more than four months which are full of various uncertainties, surprises, shocks & extraordinary events which takes place in ones’ daily life and also in a professional life.

Tough decision indeed….but finally I booked in a wave of excitement without informing anyone and without caring about my work commitments, this is what we call as “Dekhenge” or “Jugaad ho jayega”. This happened because I dedicated full four days in thinking about various aspects which can counter my holiday plan, and with a firm belief on God I left everything on the almighty to take care.

My trip was scheduled from 24th February to 28th February 2014 i.e. for 5 days only as my returning flight to India was at 1:00 AM on 28th February, so I was satisfied with a trip of 5 days.
