After de-boarding flight, as I was approaching towards the visa issuance counter, a cop was standing on the way and amongst the group of passengers he spotted me and stopped me.
He asked me to show the passport and visa. I was having passport which I showed him but visa was to be obtained from visa counter since I opted for “Visa on Arrival” which I informed him.
He took my passport with him and asked me to sit on bench. At first instance, I was surprised by the reaction of cop and could not understand how to react in such situation, as I did not found any reason for such detention from the authority. I thought that I was the only one detained, but then I saw that all the single passengers between the age of 25-35 were detained who came alone or with friends.
After accumulating enough crowd for investigation they took all of us to detention room and called one by one for inquiry.
He started with a couple and after investigating other passengers, there came my turn.
He could barely speak my name, as I guessed that his English was not very good and being Indian name he was finding it difficult to read and spell. But, I understood the ascent and went toward his seat. He showed me my passport and reconfirmed my name and photo. I confirmed details without any hesitation.
He asked me to go back and take the seat.
After verifying few more people he again called me and asked me to explain reason for visit. I told my purpose clearly that my purpose is tourism as I had visited Thailand for my vacations. Then he again asked me to go back and sit. I was unable to guess what actually did he wanted.
I was getting nervous, as I was unable to understand that what is actually going on as he was leaving other detainees after asking few questions about their visit and checking the currency available with them.
At last, me and the passenger who was sitting next to me in airline were left. I noticed that he was taken to a special inquiry room. Than the cop again called me and this time the inquiry was decisive and extensive.
