“Do you know this man?” and pointed his finger towards the person sitting on the bench in the hall.
As I turned back, looked at the guy and after a pause of two seconds suddenly word came out of my mouth “No”.
“I lied”, my brain knew this, my heart knew this.
Actually, that guy was the same who was sitting next to me in the aircraft from Kolkata to Bangkok and I was the one who filled up his immigration form. Not only this, we had long interaction about our travel plans and we also shared details of journey with each other. The meeting was short, but I had sufficient information about him that I could have told the cop about him. But I don’t know how my brain reacted in this situation. May be some more trouble was sitting there and my body sensed that and reacted in such a manner. I could not understand my reaction at that point of time and I felt that something forced that word from my mouth.
After hearing my reply, cop asked me to leave.
I was feeling very bad for that guy since I didn’t helped him in spite of knowing the fact that he was illiterate in English and in Thailand “Hindi” is an alien language and literacy of English is also not very good.
I still remember face of that guy after my reply and as I was leaving the room, I wished to God that I should never meet this person again in life because it would be difficult for me to face him again, as I left him in the hands of trouble.
But “Har Khwahish Puri to Bhagwan Ki Bhi Nahi Hoti”.
Nevertheless, my mood was very upset but still I decided to continue my trip as I had come to Thailand for vacations and it was a dream trip being my first international trip on my own.
Next task was to get visa for stay in Thailand, which I got without much hassle as only trouble was the photograph which I took along with me from India as per guidelines but they rejected that. For photograph, they were having counters where they charge 100 THB for one photo and that too was similar to that I was carrying. I sincerely feel that by doing so they have evolved another way of earning. However, after this step it took hardly ten minutes to get visa for stay of 10 days which was sufficient for me.
My next target was to reach Phuket, which I reached after one and half hour journey by AirAsia carrier and arrived there at about 11:00 AM.
