Phang- Nga bay

Posted on January 16, 2019January 16, 2019 by Abhishek Prahladka

The name of the place is pronounced as Phanga Bay but it is written as Phang-Nga bay. At first I found very difficult to pronounce and I used to pronounce it as Phan-n-g-a-bay which was definitely an insult of that place. But after hearing the name time and again, I managed to pronounce it correctly.

Next morning, I was almost ready when cab arrived at sharp 7o’clock in morning to take me to pier (In Thailand it means jetty) and I was impressed with the punctuality of the tour operators. I was looking from window of my hotel and was waiting for call from tour operator, at first I thought that the van is standing for some other reason but soon they called me for the trip.

After taking other tourists also for the same trip from Karon as well as from Kata, Patong beach, we headed towards pier.

On reaching pier there was office of tour operator who marked our attendance and pasted a sticker on our shirt according to the choice of trip for identification.

Our group was a mixture of several races out of which I could only recognize Indians as they were speaking Hindi, rest of them became familiar as the trip commenced.

We boarded a double decker ship on which upper deck was having seats to relax and enjoy along with kitchen and music system on lower deck.

It was my first ever sailing experience for long distance and I was ready with my camera to shoot best moments of the journey.

Our boat started sailing at medium pace and it sailed for an hour without taking a pause.

It passed through countless islands which came on the way in a manner as if saluting to all small islands, sea rocks.
