Maya Bay

Posted on March 23, 2019March 23, 2019 by Abhishek Prahladka

Forty five minutes ride took us to Maya Bay, a pristine island where lies a beautiful beach & lagoon-walled in by cliffs and white sands all over.

It was difficult to locate free space on the beach being too crowded and number of speed boats anchored had spoiled view of the island.

Also, it was not possible to access bay through speed boat as water in bay was very shallow and there is possibility of damaging coral reefs. Hence a narrow path runs through island which can be used to access bay or small boat preferably canoe can drive to bay.

Thus, boat anchored on one side of the island and after some briefing about the time allotment for this island along with steps to identify boat in the crowd, we stepped down the island.

Soft white sand of the island made it worth to walk island bare foot, so I kept my slippers on the deck of the ship along with my T-shirt and walked bare on island with camera in hand.

The small island had the facility to eat, drink, relax and taste flavor of nature. There were many view points from where scenic memories can be captured and stored.

I followed crowd which was heading towards bay view point and all followed a narrow path. The ramp of bay view point was made up of wooden logs tied together. The way to the ramp was so narrow that movement was allowed in one direction at a time, so it was time to wait for people standing in que of my side.

It’s true that the level of patience is negligible when you are on a holiday and that too at beautiful location. The chance came after 10 minutes of wait and the ramp to stand and view bay was made up of wood which was not so strong to hold more than ten visitors at a time, hence time allotted to each visitor was only 5 minutes but it can be extended if the body figure is of size zero. This occasion my size zero figure helped me and I was allowed to take some more time at the ramp.
