Exploring La Digue – Part 1

Posted on May 1, 2020 by Abhishek Prahladka

Weather in La Digue was very different from Praslin and there was no showers and in fact, it was bright sunshine. Our bicycle was having a bucket attached at the back, where we kept our bag, bought some cold-drinks from the shop and switched on the Bluetooth speaker and our ride started.

The road in La Digue is along the sea shore and so, there is water on one side and forest, small houses on the other side and another beauty was riding bicycle along with me.

The route was now nothing less than a paradise route.

Exotic views on the sea shore side was making bicycle ride impossible because the scenes were very distracting and time and again I had to stop my bicycle to capture the beauty.

It was a leisure trip and we were not in any kind of hurry, since we had full day to explore the island and as per map I thought it to be sufficient.

The above sight was like a nature’s speed breaker and we honored the nature’s rule. We just parked over bicycle at the shore and went towards the water to take some memorable pictures.

The mesmerizing scenery of La Digue was far beyond my expectations and my wishes were plenty, after witnessing such beauty.

But, the clock was ticking, so we reached to our first spot which was L’Union Estate Park after passing the Notre Dame de L’ Assomption Church.

It was indeed difficult for me to read the entire thing at one go since it was in French.

Oh…!!!  I forgot to mention one important thing of Seychelles, that the mother tongue is Creole, which is French based but English is also common, which made my task easier and hence Google translator was not happy.
