Ending the tour of L’Union Estate

Posted on May 10, 2020 by Abhishek Prahladka

While we were boosting our energy level, we had a small interaction with the local resident, who was also upset due to hot climate and the shade of palm tree was the best place to beat the heat.

I don’t have pets at home and don’t wish to keep either but this does not hamper my love towards those animals. which are kept as pets and the affection comes out naturally, when this creature is nearby and I had experienced that these creatures also want to interact with human beings and they love the company of humans.

I have a long list of interactions with cats in my trips to Thailand, Maldives, Seychelles, etc. One such story is already available under the “Thailand” section or it can be read through below link-

The Cat Story

It is my personal experience, that the cat loves the company of human beings, since i had felt the same in my multiple encounters with this little and lovely creature.

At last,

The beach had a perfect combination of the rocks, green palms, white beach and the turquoise ocean water and I was successful in capturing all in one frame.

Thanks to my personal photographer…My better half.

Time was running out and we decided to move to our second destination ”Grand Anse”, so we started our journey back to the bicycle parking.

We took our bicycle from the stand and as we moved little forward, I realized that something was wrong with my bicycle and as I looked down at the rear Tyre and found that, it was out of air or it was puncture. I got off my bicycle and inspected its condition and found that, the Tyre was completely out of air and riding it was not possible. I looked around to find out any shop for repair but could not find any.

So, we were struck now.

We were having two bicycles to explore the island but now left with one only and the time to explore was also limited, so we started exploring the alternatives.

One option was to leave the bicycle at the L’Union Estate and move with only one bicycle, but this option was the last preference, because we had rented bicycle and leaving a rented bicycle at unknown place could become a matter of dispute and exploring island on one bicycle could take longer time than planned.

Another option was to take back bicycle to the jetty and get it repaired or replaced, but for this, it would consume lot of the time in taking back bicycle on foot and also hiring a vehicle for towing the bicycle seemed difficult.

As me and my wife were discussing alternatives, the security guard sitting at the entrance gate of the L’Union Estate, realized our problem and came forward and luckily he was good in speaking English otherwise having conversation in Creole would have been another challenge.

He came towards us and asked, “What happened???”
