First journey with Vietnam Railways

Posted on January 24, 2018 by Abhishek Prahladka

It was my first ever train journey outside India. In India, I am a frequent traveler of train and I prefer train journey over any other means especially when I had to travel overnight. So, my excitement had no limits and this is how I completed my journey.

Vietnam Railways

Vietnam has a meter gauge/narrow gauge railway network running from across nation and connects Northern Vietnam to Southern Vietnam. Railway coaches are painted blue and red which looked attractive and the railway platforms were not very high. There is no system of platform numbers in Vietnam rather they call it as Track no. 1, 2,3 for trains arriving at other different tracks. The most interesting part is the crossing different tracks at small stations where you can cross tracks by crossing on foot rather than taking foot-over bridge.
