World’s Largest Walk-in Aviary – KL Bird Park

Posted on April 17, 2020April 18, 2020 by Abhishek Prahladka

Does this picture signifies something or is it relevant at this time?

The answer is “Yes” because the time and date, I am writing this blog, is a period of lock-down and all readers need to adopt the lifestyle of this owl during day time and at night act like a normal human being.

This Owl is free to roam around but his lifestyle is different from humans and the best place to witness such species who exist on this planet, but don’t cross paths of humans every day is, KL Bird Park, Kuala Lumpur.

I have been to Kuala Lumpur many times and I have not missed going to the bird park, if I have stayed for atleast 10 hours in the city, but my love for this park has still not ended.

KL bird park is a unique kind of bird park which claims to be the biggest open walk-in bird aviary of the world.  I have not seen any such place till date, so who am I to question this claim.

If anyone has seen any bird park bigger than KL bird park, do let me know, so that I can plan trip and can compare both the places.

The bird park is located near Central Market and it is easily accessible by Cab, foot or Metro. I usually take metro to reach nearest station and depending on the time, i either take cab or cover distance by foot and RM 63.00 (Approx. INR 1100) is what I paid, being an adult, to enter into the park. The entry fees can be paid through cash or card and it is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

At the entrance, a map is provided which acts as a guide throughout the trip and to believe my claim, if someone wants to spend entire day at this bird park, it can be done very easily.

Check-out for below map and activities of the Bird Park-

I had visited twice and still i had not covered entire activities of this bird park.

Some claim that, this park is meant for children, but i differ with this view, because being close to nature is responsibility of every human being and whenever fate gives any chance, it should not be utilized but it should be exploited (i hope it has been taken in a positive sense).

Let’s take a tour of this fantastic place…
