This phenomena was very frequent in Seychelles…
There was no end for enjoyment but the time had done his part. We spent almost 2 hours at the Grand Anse beach, although we never realized this fact, and it was time to move back to our next destination. But there was another problem, we were actually out of time and as per my calculation of distance and time, reaching next destination seemed difficult. Still we decided to move to the next destination Anse Severe, which was on the opposite side of Grand Anse.
We left the soothing sea water, dressed up and started packing our bag. But the nature’s task was not finished, mother nature had a different plan, she didn’t want us to leave and thus she came up with a new poster, to stop us.
Rainbow on beach…..!!!!
This was unexpected, unbelievable because it was cloudy and without any trace of sun, it was indeed a wonder of nature and for us it was the moment when we were standstill.
We were now lost in the nature’s mesmerizing scenery, which is rare to see in the city life. The Rainbow made our task difficult, on one hand, we were almost out of time and on other hand the nature was casting spell on us, so as not to let us go and the spell always works, we could not move out of Grand Anse, till rainbow disappeared and we just kept on looking the sky and rainbow like a statue.
Bright color of our face was narrating the entire story of what we had witnessed today. Once, the rainbow disappeared, we started our journey to Anse Severe.
Road approaching to Grand Anse was very steep and it was easy to reach Grand Anse because we were descending and thus gravitational force was in our favor but the situation was reverse now. We had to climb the slope now, but the energy level was not enough to complete the ascent.
After swimming, we were out of energy and hunger was striking hard.
I asked my wife to start the ascent first and for few meters she could ride the bicycle but soon she lost the pace and she stood still.
I was watching her from the starting point, so I rode my bicycle towards her and asked her to walk and ascent the hilly road rather riding bicycle. I realized that it would be tough for her to ride bicycle to the hill top, so I continued my ride and reached top of the slope and parked my bicycle along the road side. Then I came down running towards my wife, asked her to take the driver seat of the bicycle and pushed her bicycle, so that she could reach the top of hill with minimum efforts.
After ascent, the bicycle ride was smooth but the energy level went down and we had only water for backup, which helped us for sometime.
We were heading towards the Anse Severe beach and the route was passing from the Jetty area and as we reached near Jetty, we realized that we were out of time and the balance time left was not sufficient to explore another destination and any attempt to explore the next destination, would require rapid pace and lot of energy, which we were lacking at that point.
So, we decided to give up the plan for exploring Anse Severe beach and returned to Jetty and handed over the bicycle to the tour agent. As a formal gesture, I also inquired, whether he got his bicycle or not??
The tour agent answered, “ Yes, I got the bicycle, I went home for lunch and while returning, I brought the bicycle.”
He also pointed me to the punctured bicycle kept outside his shop and said,” It is kept there”. I recognized my first bicycle, smiled and thanked him for supporting me. It was indeed a great help, which he offered me and it shows the dedication of Seychellois in hospitality of tourists.
We spotted captain of our boat, marked our attendance and after knowing the fact that, we were first and punctual to report at Jetty as per schedule and we had to wait for other tourists, we took permission from him and went to nearby shop to have the much needed food.
As per schedule, we boarded one of the speed boat anchored at the jetty and departed for Praslin, to end our exciting day but was it so easy……!!!!
