Yes, Correct, it is the flag of the tank’s origin country, which is upside down.
I was little bit correct in my guess, about reason for displaying flag upside down, but it is always better to clear doubts and queries by asking questions, rather than guessing wrong.
So, I approached a soldier standing near bunker and asked him reason for the same.
While answering I could sense feel of pride on his face…he gave two reasons for it.
- First, it is a sign of victory, which India had over Pakistan in the battle of Laungewala, so this inverted flag of enemy, will always be a matter of pride for India.
- The tank has been captured by Indian soldiers during war and thus it is a matter of pride to acquire enemy’s battle weapons.
Both the answers were justifying the evidence and my guess was almost correct but the reasons as narrated by soldier, was “Perfect”
